Richtech's Dex: Humanoid Robot for Industrial Tasks

Richtech Robotics unveiled its latest creation, the Dex mobile humanoid, designed to tackle tough industrial jobs around the clock. This bot stands tall at human height, with arms built for heavy lifting and precise movements. Trained entirely in NVIDIA's Isaac Sim environment, Dex bridges the gap between virtual simulations and real-world action, learning tasks like sorting, assembly, and navigation without constant human tweaks.

The company, founded in 2016 and based in Las Vegas, started with service robots for hotels and restaurants—think automated drink makers and delivery bots. Now, they're pushing into factories, where Dex promises to handle repetitive or dangerous work. Early tests show it spotting defects and dodging hazards on its own, thanks to onboard AI that runs offline.

What makes Dex stand out? It's not just another arm on wheels. This full humanoid form lets it squeeze into tight spaces and adapt to messy environments, much like a worker would. Richtech aims to deploy fleets of these by next year, cutting costs in warehouses and plants. The robotics world just got a bit more human.
